$100 Christmas Challenge -Store Freebies

Do you ever get those coupons from stores where you get $5 off if you spend $30 or so? And you need a total of $24.57 worth of stuff every time. Well, at least that's the way it happens for me! Or when you spend a total of $25 this week you will get $5 that is good to spend at the store next week. Sometimes department stores do that and drug stores do that a lot too. Now these deals only make sense if you were planning to spend money on something in the store already. But I got $20 credit at a store and a $5 off $30 at the same time. Jackpot! That's $30 worth of stuff for $5. Since I needed jeans I went and bought a pair. I used the extra money to buy dress socks for my hubby as stocking stuffers. I paid ($5 for the jeans that I would have bought anyway) and got the socks for free.

Walgreens gives out these "Register Rewards" frequently. A week or two before Christmas they were giving out $5 of these for spending $25 in the store. I bought some formula for Squinchy (that we needed anyway) and got the $5. The next week I went in and picked up cute socks for Squinchy that look like baby shoes. After using my $5 "Register Rewards" I paid $2.15.

A lot of times you can get items for free or just pennies at Rite Aid, CVS or Walgreens using a combination of coupons, sales, rebates etc. There are tons of websites that even outline the deals and tell you where to get the coupons from. This could be a great source of stocking stuffers like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair bands etc. Even if you do not put this in your families stockings at Christmas there are plenty of places you can donate them to or you can include them in a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child.
