Our $100 Christmas

If you read my blog you know I love making ridiculously low budgets for things and seeing if I can meet them. Kind of a weird obsession, but it saves us money so I keep doing it. Several months ago I read about The Holiday Challenge on another blog. Basically it is setting aside $100 cash out of pocket for Christmas gifts and stretching it to cover everyone your list. Here are the basics of how it worked for us.

1. There is $100 total cash out of pocket to spend on everyone on our Christmas list.

2. This included gifts for me, my hubby, both the boys, 3 nephews and one set of grandparents, 3 preschool teachers and DS' speech therapist. A total of 13 people. We did not include gifts we bought for Angel Trees or another other type of charitable giving.

3. Any gift cards we could earn online or win got added over and above the $100. The $100 limit is total cash out of pocket.

4. Shipping, handling and taxes all got taken out of the $100.

What do you think? Did we make it? Did we give everyone junk from the Dollar Store?

I guess you'll just have to keep reading and find out. :)
