Naming my blog was much harder than I expected.I thought about all the stuff I wanted to write about. Gluten-free recipies, adventures with my son, random things that captured my attention, thrify tips, household organization, projects I'm working on, my new career as a stay-at-home mom.... Pretty much whatever crossed my mind. What the heck do you call that? And since every blog title has to be unique all the good ones are already taken. So I pouted about that, and pondered about what would be a good title.
I have secret fantasies that my blog will be really popular. Wildly popular. Followers in the hundreds. People will look forward to my every post and households will be transformed. So naturally I needed a catchy title to make that happen. What should it be....? As it happened, my son's favorite book for the past several months has been If I Ran the Circus by Dr. Suess. Reading it to him for the eleventy billionith time I realized it was a lot like my life. Crazy, optimistic, oftentimes out of control, lots of fun with lots of made up words to keep the story going. Ah, that's what I want my blog to be.
And since I have a secret wish to write a book like Dr. Seuss one day I thought I would start with my blog.

Christmas Photos
I don't have anything really inspiring to share today, so I'm just going to post some Christmas photos of our Christmas.
The wrapping paper is definately more fun than the presents!
Amazingly Doodlebug's firt Christmas was a white Christmas. And we live in the South. Too bad he wasn't big enough to enjoy playing in the snow.
Mommy getting sloppy Christmas kisses. Doodlebug now thinks it's funny to lick me while kissing me.
Amy! I found your blog off of Andrea's but had to tool through a bit until I found pictures and was sure it was you! I will definitely be checking back in. Your baby/toddler is PRECIOUS!!! :)
This blog is about my adventures as a wife and mom. I'm trying to live out my faith in God, raise my son to be a godly man, figure out how to run a household as frugally as possible while living with and managing Celiac disease. Oh, and I'm trying to do all without losing my mind. Some days are better than others.
Please feel free to email me with questions or comments. Please use the word "blog" or "circus mcgurkus" in your subject line so I don't think it's junk mail and delete it without reading. These things are known to happen around here.
